Overview:

Synergy Stats is an internal project for Synergy that was built out of the desire to have real-time information on individual website visitors and to extend the functionality available from services such as Google Analytics.

Challenge:

Let's start by saying we love Google Analytics (GA), but GA provides only anonymous, aggregate information about the visitors on our site, and we wanted to know more. We wanted to know:

• Who our visitors are;
• Where they are coming from;
• How long they spend on our site;
• If they're back for a repeat visit;
• Whether they completed any goals; and
• What navigation path they followed to complete those goals.

We wanted internal algorithms built into the analytics engine to decipher traffic patterns and represent the information in an easy to understand format.

Synergy Solution:

We built a real-time tracking tool that shows a spy map of who is on your site right now and what they’re doing. We created a simple plug-in for the Joomla Content Management System so that any Joomla-powered site could be up and tracking in just a couple of clicks.
