Oracle Learning Management Bug: Course Status Changes to Unenrolled When Pending Evaluation or eSignature

Written by Anne Saulnier, Posted in Oracle Learning Management, Oracle

Oracle Learning Management Issue with Status Updates in Release 12.1.3

If you require an evaluation or eSignature for a class that is part of a Learning Path or Learning Certification, the status for classes that have online offerings will update to Unenrolled on the Learning Plan and/or Learning Certification page after the Learner has completed the training. The Player Status will reflect properly to show that they have completed the online class.

The status reflects properly on the home page, but there’s no visual indicator to the Learner on the Learning Path or Certification page that there is an additional step to complete.

This has been identified as a bug (10152493) and Oracle development is working on a patch.

Possible Work-Arounds before the Patch is Released:

  • Don’t require eSignatures for Courses that will be viewed as part of a Learning Path or Learning Certification;
  • Don’t make evaluations mandatory for Courses that will be viewed as part of a Learning Path or Learning Certification;
  • Add a test as the last module / Learning Object in the eLearning class with one question that confirms that the Learner has read and understood the content presented in the course in lieu of using the standard eSignature functionality;
  • Add your evaluation questions as the last module / Learning Object in the eLearning class so that the Learner needs to complete it before receiving credit for completing the course.
