Oracle HCM Users Group Live on the New Emma API

Written by John Hobart, Posted in MyEmma

The Oracle HCM Users GroupWe are pleased to announce our first full integration using the new MyEmma API.

Fully integrated with Joomla and JomSocial, changes to user profiles are reflected in Emma in near real-time.  Users are automatically segmented by interest and the frequency with which they prefer to receive email updates from the group.

We used our new EmmaPHP in conjunction with a little cron job on an Amazon EC2 instance to migrate user profiles as they are updated by the end users.

Keeping over 5,000 user profiles in sync used to be a manual process, but thanks to the hard work by Matt Thackston and his team at Emma, it's now a fully-automated process.

You can get more information on the new Emma API launch on the Emma Tech Blog, where they have Emma API Documentation.

We plan to release our PHP wrapper class for the new Emma API (EmmaPHP) under the GPL open-source license as soon as we've documented the functions and some examples.  We're currently exploring coding up a Joomla component and plugin.  Sign up for our newsletter to stay informed on new releases of EmmaPHP and the Joomla plugin.

Update: We've released a partial function set and documentation for EmmaPHP.  Download EmmaPHP Now! and let us know what you think!
